New organic training programme launched
The National Organic Training Skillnet (NOTS) was launched in Dublin recently. This is the first comprehensive organic programme available nationally that will deliver extensive training courses in organic food production. A brochure listing just some of the training courses available has been distributed to all of the certified organic producers and processors in the country.
The Programme Manager is Sean McGloin, who is based in the Enterprise Centre, Drumshanbo, Co Leitrim. There are also two regional co-ordinators who are working with NOTS on a part time basis to facilitate the project. They are Dolores Keegan who is based in Galway and will cover the south west of the country and Paula Pender who is based in Carlow and who will cover the south east of the country.
IOFGA is delighted to be strongly involved in this venture and is confident that it will offer innovative and essential training to people who are actively involved in organic production in Ireland.
