IOFGA Launches Organic Charter for Public Organic Gardens
Gardening has become the new pastime for hundreds of people and it looks set to explode in the coming years as people reap the rewards of growing their own food. IOFGA has launched an organic charter for gardens that wish to be managed organically but do not wish to apply for formal certification as they are not selling their produce.
The introduction of organic gardens in schools, crèches, community gardens and allotments has led to a huge increase in the number of people interested in organic gardening. This increases the level of respect that people have for the hard work organic growers undertake in order to produce organic food commercially.
We have had many requests from people who want to garden following organic principles so the introduction of the charter should help those who wish to garden organically and educate people about the benefits and importance of sourcing local organic food!
